In addition to RTAD6 and RTA BD1-4 brc, my next project is going to be to record a video for each level of BD1 and BD2, just for the sake of it - and to accompany the BD1/2 5-level walkthrough I'm going to start eventually.

Excellent idea! I'm very much looking forward to this!

And, now - they're finished! I sent them to Arno, so we'll just have to see when they pop up.

One little question: Where can the older versions of WinVICE be downloaded? On the VICE page, there seems to be only the latest version 1.22, and with this one, the videos don't seem to work properly...

Ah, that sounds good.
Cave Movies

Maybe i should make some clips, too. I could show my BD game.

Just out of curiosity, hasn't Arno already submitted BD 1+2 as longplays?

Yep, both videos are available at the Longplays site.
I still intend to do a BD3 video too, but always a lack of time...

Hi,
I acn't watch a record but I can play the games myself with these files! Perhaps this is due to my WIN VICE version 1.22 instead of 1.19/1.20... I hope that don't cause trouble with FSS, since you have practically released the original games??

I hope this is okay for me to do...but here is 1.20:

It seems that the VICE team has forgotten that each and every version isn't 100% compatible with each and every other one, given that they remove the older ones.

I doubt it - anyone who records even a 2-second VICE snapshot of any of the originals is giving anyone else full access to the game. All the user has to do is stop the playback, and press the reset key (PgUp) or whatever to go to the main menu and have full playability.

Thanks, Rory! Well, meanwhile I've noted that it does work with version 1.22, too- it was my mistake...
Very interesting to watch another player! In many caves I choose the same/ a very similar solution strategy, but there are also caves that I solve different. Quite nice!

Always glad to help!

I
did think that those snapshot versions (1.19-1.20-1.22) were compatible, but I didn't want to be potentially useless, just in case.

Thank you!!

Whoa, Rory, have you really managed to play through the whole game without losing a life?
My respect... I would still gave to train a lot before I could manage this!

Not at all! I probably wouldn't even consider myself an advanced player.
The VICE recorder allows you to create a recording milestone. If you die, or otherwise mess up, you can simply reload back to where you set the milestone. I took full advantage of this feature.
(Otherwise, I would've died at least 15-20 times in the level 5 video)
Notice also that my score is back to 0 at the start of each level.

Oh good, OK, somehow that reassures me...
