Hello!

I am happy to meet you. :-)

Do you know about my Boulder Dash Clones for the Atari?

They are called "Boulder Smash".

The first Boulder Smash I made in 1993 for the Atari 1040 STE.

In 1995 a more colourful Boulder Smash I made for the Atari Falcon030.

These days I am working on a clone for the Mac.

It´s my first little game project for the Mac, so I am curious how things will be working.

Cheers ^^.

Wow! Great!

I'm a Mac-user since 1992 and the only clone I've ever seen was BalderDoush (I even made new graphics, sounds and caves for this clone back then). It absolutely fabulous that someone finally makes a clone for MacOS X! :))

Can you post Boulder Smash? It would be nice trying it on the Atari ST emulator... :)

You´ll find the Atari version in my Atari games collection: Click here.
The early beta version of my Beta for the Mac: Click here.

My Boulder for the Mac project makes me a bit confused at the moment: After including the 30th pict-resource, FBasic crashes completely when I try to build the .main.

I can not start your beta of Boulder Bash. Didn't you built it Universal Binary? I have a PPC Mac.

That´s strange. It shuld be a universal, yes. It is probably compiled for MacOs 10.5 Which MacOs do you use? I have now made a version which should hopefully be working with >= Os 10.4. To verify if it is Universal please have a look into the Finders Info dialog box. :)

Ok, now its working.

But its veeeery slow. It runs jerky.

But nice! :)

Oh, slow is bad. :-(

Hold the Q-button to get more speed.
I try to make it faster, soon.

edit: a new and (hopefully) quick version is available. Press the "q"-key to switch to maximum speed; press the "n"-key to switch back to normal speed.

If I speed it up all animations run too fast - and I can eat the fireflies... ;)

Okay, it needs a better timing for both, the ant and and the Enemies ... Say, how was it playable at normal speed ("n")? Mh, yes, you can eat the fireflies. I will see what I can do against that. :)

OK, I'm playing in normal speed. It's better now in the new beta. But please - not Space for quitting. Should be Apple-Q. It's MacOS - not Windows!

Okay!

I wonder where the ant appears new when it had crashed. Will it rebirth at the last position, or will he rebirth at the starting square (the starting square is still missing)?

Rockford always appears at the inbox position.

Ah, ok! - Another question: Do daimonds crush when a boulder falls on it?
