Sendydash series

Post by Sendy »

Just an update to say I've got the new caveset for Sendydash I version 2 ready. It features a slightly different cave order to make a nicer difficulty curve, some caves have different colours (in the vein of SDII), there are a couple of new caves replacing my least favourite levels, and many have been modified so there's more margin for error with time limits, diamonds needed etc...

Since my website got taken down, does anyone have a list of the cave names I assigned? If so could you post them here please. Thanks ^_^

Well my ex bought the webspace for me but now I've dumped him he's turned it into some crappy cut-and-paste content site about recipes.

Ok, well I compiled the game again, but realized I STILL wasn't happy with the colour schemes, and missed a subtle puzzle fix/enhancement that I was meant to go, so now I'm just about to compile for the third time, and let's hope it's third time lucky! :)

As for SD2, I'm not sure I want to change it at all, it's so perfect. But I will be altering SD3.

You seem to be a perfectionist, too (just like me). I'm sure you'll do it very well!

BTW, given the fact that your page is down, where can the SD games be downloaded now?

I'm looking for someone to provide some decent webspace for my retro-gaming projects. Failing that, I'll get a freesite or see if another BD fan would host my games.

Incidentally I also do level design for other games including Jet Set Willy (spectrum), Trackmania (PC) and Knytt Stories (PC freeware). Yes, I have a lot of time on my hands and I love it

Unsolvable cave?

Post by Dustin »

Hi Sendy,
is it possible that cave 7- Hurry- of SD2 is unsolvable? I'm playin' it on Gdash, and no matter how fast I hurry down at the start, the way to the left half of the cave is already blocked... not due to the growing walls, I'm faster, but at the bottom ther's a division of boulders and magicwalls that make it impossible for me to get left.

Ummumm :) If it is unplayable only in GDash, this might belong to me. (Also a nice opportunity to share the replay, so we can see how you try to solve it!)

I can host them on the same server with GDash, if you like.

That was a Gdash issue which I believe has been fixed, the C64 version was easily completable. There was another level, involving amoeba scattered about the cave, which was also unsolvable under Gdash, which is also fixed AFAIK.

Sadly I seem to have somehow erased my SD2 longplay (and I really am saddened because it came out really cool), though I do still have one for the old version of SD1, and I will be making one for the updated version, too.

Oh, ok, I didn't know that the problem was only in Gdash, I haven't ried the C64 game yet, admittedly...

(Little offtopic...) Could you please test it again with the latest GDash? Just to make sure now it works as intended.

Still unsolvable. Respectively, I cannot solve it. The way to the left half is still blocked. Sendy, perhaps you check it, too- perhaps you intended a different solution I cannot find? (Sendydash 2, cave 7-Hurry!)

you can also upload a replay to the gdash replay repository, if you like. http://jutas.eet.bme.hu/~cirix/gdash/repo.php
then it will be easier to discuss!
